CCDI bags 3 gold in Bicol Skills Olympics

CCDI – Sorsogon bagged 3 gold medals in the Bicol Skills Olympics held last November 16, 2012 in Daet, Camarines Norte.

 

Christian Barrameda, 19, topped the Network Cabling category as he finished the problem in more or less two hours. Using the ICS judging system, he excelled in points the Camarines Sur competitor from a sister school, CCDI-Naga City campus. Amazingly, both CCDI competitors received gold medal. Ranked 3rd is Northeast College of Asia (Camarines Norte).

Jemelyn Quinones  won the First Place or Gold medal  in Web page Design category as she bested  competitors from other provinces. Among her top competitor is the national medalist, Philippine Computer Foundation College, Camarines Sur, who  got  the 2nd Place;  3rd place goes to Computer Arts and Technology College of Albay.

 

Julie Ann Hayagan who garnered 900 points got a landslide victory as she was ranked 1st in Software Application Category. Camarines Sur competitors got the 2nd and 3rd place.

 

Other winners in the Bicol Skills Olympics were: Cake Icing and Decorating - 1st Place, CASIFMAS- Camarine Sur, 2nd Place Immaculate Concepcion College (Albay) and 3rd Place, Sorsogon National Agricultural Schools (Sorosogon); Cookery - 3rd Place- Mabini College (Daet), 2nd Place – Bulusan National Technical Vocational School (Sorsogon), and 3rd Place Mabini College (Camarines Norte); Restaurant Services – 3rd Place, Mariners Polytechnic Colleges (Legazpi), 2nd Place – CASIFMAS (Camarines Sur), 1st Place – San Francisco Institute of Technology (Tabaco),and ; Computer Graphics – 3rd Place – Camarines Norte State College, 2nd Place, CCDI-Naga City and 1st Place – PCFC Naga City.

 

 

The Champions will represent the region to the National I.T. Skills Olympics. CCDI Naga competitors were coached by Mr. Edwardo G. Reyes (Software Applications), Mr Tristan Detera (Network Cabling) and Mr. Elvin Manuel Luces (Web Design) under the supervision of Mr. Edgar Balasta, CCDI Administrator.

 

TESDA Regional Director Conrado Bares were so impressed of an excellent hosting in Daet Camarines Norte and encouraged every TVI to participate in the said competition regularly.
